Another Christmas Design!

I haven't been updating this website/blog as frequently as I should have, lately. I'm not entirely sure how wide a reach it actually has compared to my social media profiles on Facebook and Instagram, however I do have an exciting announcement to make - there is a new Christmas pattern in the homestitchness Etsy shop!

I find that inspiration often strikes in threes, for me. This time last year, I had released my Pohutukawa and Red Flowering Gum hoop art designs but ran out of time to stitch the Poinsettia version, which was bouncing around my head as well. I decided to wait and release it this year instead.

I am pleased to say that there are now three different homestitchness Christmas hoop art ornament patterns available. I have updated the 2014 hoops with a splash of gold paint to match the Poinsettia hoop and couldn't be happier with how the gold has added some extra Christmas sparkle to these designs!

ALL THREE CHRISTMAS DESIGNS ARE CURRENTLY ON SALE for a limited time only - no code is necessary! It's never too early to get started on some Christmas stitching! :o)

A Couple of Announcements...

It was with great joy that we welcomed this sweet little lady into our family last month. She is a very settled and placid baby and we have been enjoying every precious moment with her! Already it feels like time is passing much too quickly - I have been savouring all my cuddles with her as I know very well that she won't stay tiny for long!

Our New Baby

In other news, March 2014 marks a year since homestitchness cross stitch patterns started appearing in specialty needlework shops throughout New Zealand! I am very thankful to my retailers for their support of my work and to all of YOU for your enthusiasm and interest in what I'm doing - it really means a lot!

I'm thinking about holding a little giveaway soon to celebrate my small business anniversary. I will hold it over on the homestitchness Facebook page and I'd love it if you'd pop over and 'Like' it - I tend to post updates a lot more often there than I do here, so I encourage you to follow along, that way you'll be able to enter when the giveaway happens!

See you there! :o)

Coming Soon...

Hello and HAPPY 2014!!!

I hope the new year is off to a great start for you all, wherever you live... I have been missing the NZ summer lately as it has been REALLY cold in our part of the States this winter. However, it is definitely good crafting weather and I've enjoyed spending my evenings curled up on a comfy chair, working on the latest homestitchness designs that are due for release VERY SOON!

The Home Collection by homestitchness

If you follow homestitchness on Facebook, you might have noticed that I've been posting a few sneak peeks that give away some clues about the new designs. I'm pretty excited about them - they are a set of three small designs that fit perfectly in a 6"/15cm embroidery hoop so that they can be displayed as hoop wall art when you're finished. They look lovely by themselves, in a pair or as a trio - it will be up to you how many you want to stitch! The designs celebrate the affection we feel toward our homes and feature some of the lovely things we fill them with to make them our own. While there are some definite New Zealand influences in the mix, they are pretty universal and will (hopefully!) appeal to stitchers everywhere. Here is a photo of the gorgeous DMC threads I have chosen for the designs - with so many beautiful colours to choose from, it is definitely one of my favourite steps in the design process!

I will be back soon to show you the new releases :o) In the meantime I had better get back to pattern proofing while my little boy naps!

A few updates...

homestitchness New Zealand themed cross stitch designs

Hello! And if you are visiting for the first time - welcome! :o)

What with one thing and another happening in life - as it does - I haven't been nearly as present in this little space as I would like to be! So, it is definitely about time things got a little more exciting around here...

I am very pleased to say that homestitchness now has it's very own Etsy shop where you can buy patterns direct and they will be mailed to you free of charge, no matter where in the world you live! While I am a huge advocate of supporting your local needlework store, if you are not close by to any of the retail shops carrying the homestitchness pattern range, being able to buy online will be a good option for you!

I am also happy to announce that homestitchness now has it's very own Facebook page as well, so I'd love it if you'd take the time to check it out. There are some events coming up soon, such as a giveaway here on the blog, and since homestitchness is such a new venture I'll be needing your help to spread the word (which means there'll be lots of opportunities to get yourself multiple entries into the draw!)

I hope you'll join me as things start to get underway! As always, thank you so much for your interest in homestitchness!
